چکیده

This paper proposes a new scheme for bulk system restoration considering the available black-start resources (BSRs) in distribution (DS). The DS assisted generator start-up sequence (D-GSS) is realized decentralized way, so that it does not only benefit GSS by utilizing BSRs DS, but also respects independent operation of transmission operator (TSO) and operators (DSOs). First, D-GSS presented including interaction TSO DSOs corresponding compact models. models are built with modeled as mixed-integer quadratic program (MIQP), multi-step second-order conic programs (MISOCPs) reliable power supply assessments renewable energy sources linear (LPs). Finally, projection function based analytical target cascading (P-ATC) method developed to iteratively solve model complexity reduction. P-ATC algorithm can handle integer variables improve computational efficiency iterative calculation process. effectiveness proposed validated using small-scale T6D2 large-scale T118D5 system, showing good performance computation efficiency.

Active Distribution Networks Restoration after Extreme Events

After extreme events such as floods, thunderstorms, blizzards and hurricanes there will be devastating effects in the distribution networks which may cause a partial or complete blackout. Then, the major concern for the system operators is to restore the maximum critical loads as soon as possible by available generation units.  In order to solve this problem, this paper provides a restoration s...

Optimal Combined and Adaptive Protection of Active Distribution Networks Considering Different System Topologies Incorporating Optimal Selection of Standard Relay Curves

The change in the topology of active distribution networks (ADNs) is one of the essential challenges that might affect the protection schemes. The conventional protection schemes based on base topology result in some coordination constraint violations in other topologies due to the outage of upstream substations and distributed generation units. In this article, new combinational and adaptive p...

Flexible Scheduling of Active Distribution Networks for Market Participation with Considering DGs Availability

The availability of sufficient and economic online capacity to support the network while encountering disturbances and failures leading to supply and demand imbalance has a crucial role in today distribution networks with high share of Distributed Energy Resources (DERs), especially Renewable Energy Resources (RESs). This paper proposes a two-stage decision making framework for the Distribution...

A Bi-Level Optimization Approach for Optimal Operation of Distribution Networks with Retailers and Micro-grids

Distributed energy resources (DERs) including distributed generators (DGs) and controllable loads (CLs) are managed in the form of several microgrids (MGs) in active distributions networks (ADNs) to meet the demand locally. On the other hand, some loads of distribution networks (DNs) can be supplied by retailers which participate in wholesale energy markets. Therefore, there are several decisio...

Optimal Multi-Objective Planning of Distribution System with Distributed Generation

This paper presents a multi-objective formulation for optimal siting and sizing of distributed generation (DG) resources in distribution systems in order to minimize the cost of power losses and energy not supplied. The implemented technique is based on a genetic algorithm (GA) and weight method that employed to obtain the best compromise between these costs. Simulation results on 33-bus distri...
